About the Role

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI lab to train frontier models on high-quality insurance reasoning data. We're hiring Commercial Insurance Brokers and Risk Advisors to design realistic client-advisory and placement scenarios, evaluate model outputs against established industry standards, and help shape how the next generation of AI reasons about commercial insurance purchasing and risk transfer.

We welcome retail and wholesale brokers, commercial producers, account executives, risk advisors, and professionals who have advised small businesses, middle-market organizations, or large national accounts.

What You'll Do

  • Design realistic scenarios involving exposure identification, coverage recommendations, submissions, marketing, placement, renewals, and client servicing
  • Create work products such as coverage comparisons, renewal strategies, proposal analyses, exposure summaries, and client recommendations
  • Write "golden" reference responses at experienced broker and risk-advisor quality
  • Grade AI-generated responses against structured rubrics for accuracy, completeness, client suitability, and practical usefulness
  • Identify when model outputs overlook material exposures, recommend unsuitable coverage, confuse carrier and broker responsibilities, or mishandle account-specific constraints
  • Provide written feedback the research team uses to improve model behavior
  • Participate in onboarding office hours and calibration sessions

You're a Good Fit If You

  • Have 2+ years of professional experience in commercial insurance brokerage, risk advisory, placement, production, or account management
  • Have worked directly with commercial clients in at least one segment, such as small business, middle market, large/national accounts, or specialty risks
  • Understand submissions, quotes, binders, policy comparisons, coverage gaps, renewals, and broker-carrier-client communications
  • Can distinguish a broker's advisory obligations from a carrier's underwriting and claims responsibilities
  • Demonstrate excellent written communication skills with high attention to detail
  • Are comfortable explaining insurance concepts and recommendations in clear, practical language

Bonus Qualifications

  • CPCU, CIC, CRM, ARM, or comparable insurance designation
  • Wholesale, E&S, Lloyd's, or specialty-placement experience
  • Experience with captives, large deductibles, loss-sensitive programs, or multinational accounts
  • Experience serving more than one industry or account segment
  • Active or previously held producer license

Role Highlights

  • Minimum 20 hours per week (ideally 40+)
  • Role starts immediately, applications reviewed on a rolling basis
